Today I’m showing y’all how to make a Classic Champagne Cocktail. It’s seriously so easy, but one of those easy recipes that will still impress your friends. Based on what I’ve read about this particular recipe, it’s one of the oldest cocktails ever, with recipes dating back to the 1870’s. It’s simple, it’s stood the test of time, and it’s delicious. Here’s how you make it.
All you need is a good bottle of champagne, sugar cubes, bitters, and a lemon.
First, place one sugar cube into your champagne coupe.
Next, sprinkle a couple drops of bitters onto each cube.
Now, pop the champagne!
Then, pour the champagne onto your sugar cube.
Next, take a veggie peeler and peel off a bit of lemon zest for garnish. It will also give you a great citrusy smell with every sip, which is just lovely.
And there you have it! A Classic Champagne Cocktail.
I snagged this cropped, floral print sweater from J. Crew on sale not too long ago. Unfortunately, it sold out before I could get this posted. However, I still wanted to point out a styling tip that’s been really helpful too me during this current crop top craze. And that is – it’s always acceptable to throw on a longer blouse underneath a cropped item. Especially if you’re like me and don’t want to bare too much mid-drift. Remember, make trends work for you, or don’t do them.
I decided to wear my cropped sweater on top of a striped blue button up to mix and match prints a little bit, which I think really finishes out the look. My jeans are Genetic Denim and my flats are Tory Burch (unfortunately the exactly style is older and therefore no longer available, but I really like these and these). The coat I also love. In fact, it’s so nice, I bought it twice – I also own it in last year’s cut in tan. If you’re in the market for a “wear with anything” coat, then this stadium style is for you.
When it comes to dressing, for me, it’s usually the simpler the better – jeans and a sweater is a go-to ensemble. Because it’s such a simple look, I like to wear sweaters that have a bit of interest to them. This J. Crew Factory elbow patch sweater fits the bill. I love the punchy red color and the button detailing with the elbow patches. It’s a great classic sweater, just amped up a little bit.
No matter where you live, it’s a pretty safe bet that for most of you it’s pretty chilly outside. Even in Texas where we’re known for our warm weather it’s been in the 30s and 40s the past couple weeks. Although I’m partial to warmer temps, there is a silver lining in that I can live in cozy sweaters – there are so many great ones out there right now!
I’ve compiled a few of my favorite sweater weather finds for you in the graphic above. If I had to narrow it down to just a few – I really like number 3, number 10, and number 11.
