Recently I was part of the bridal party in my cousin Liza’s wedding. The wedding took place early in January of this year in Houston at the stunning Chateau Cocomar. Seriously y’all, it’s gorgeous. I posted a few pictures of the wedding on my Instagram that weekend, and they were super popular, so I decided to post even more pictures from the wedding on my blog. So, my apologies in advance – this post will be picture heavy. But really, you shouldn’t care because the pictures are gorgeous! And, with Valentine’s Day coming up tomorrow, maybe this post will help get you in the mood for love! 😉
All of the photos, except for the first two without the watermark (which are mine), were taken by Jonathan Ivy Photography.
You can find a list of all the vendors used below the pictures. One thing I will point out – the garter seen in one of the pictures below is custom made using lace from the mother of the bride’s wedding gown. It also served as the “something blue”, and definitely makes for a timeless and sentimental keepsake.
As promised, below is a list of the vendors she used with a link to their websites. Also below in the “Shop This Post” section, you can find links to bridesmaid dresses, the mother of the bride dress, some accessories we wore, and the bridal shoes.
In preparation for Valentine’s Day coming up this Saturday, today’s Pop Liz Clink recipe is more desert than cocktail. It’s a super simple and super decadent Strawberry Champagne Float. You may be thinking “What?! Champagne and Ice Cream?! That’s weird.” But trust me, have no fear! I promise it’s delicious. It’s what I’m planning to make for my husband after we get home from our dinner date, and I’m pretty sure he’s going to love it.
If you don’t have a husband or boyfriend to surprise, this is also the perfect girls night treat. 😉
All you need are three ingredients – prosecco, strawberries, and vanilla ice cream.
First, cut the strawberries into tiny pieces.
Next, layer your strawberries and vanilla ice cream into an irish coffee mug. Of course, any type of glass will do if you don’t own these.
Now, pop the champagne!
Finally, pour your prosecco over the strawberries and ice cream.
Vanilla Ice Cream
Cut strawberries (or any fruit of your choosing) into tiny pieces.
Alternate layering ice cream and strawberries into glass.
Pour prosecco on top.
P.S. I would love to celebrate with y’all, so be sure to share with me your own champagne experiences using the hashtag #poplizclink on social media.
I really love the trend I’ve been seeing over the past year or so of unexpected sequins incorporated into everyday items like this sweater. Because let’s be honest, although sequins are fun (if you’re a reader you know I love sequins), they’re oftentimes not appropriate to wear in your day to day. That’s why I love this sequin sleeved sweater from J. Crew (on sale). It’s the perfect amount of sparkle on the cuff to make this sweater unique, but it’s understated enough to wear on any occasion. I paired it with a pair of skinny jeans and my Tory Burch riding boots, but you could also style it with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and sneakers.
Here’s a little “Pretty in Pink” Valentine’s Day outfit inspiration to get your week started. I found this flirty pink Rebecca Taylor dress at Nordstrom and then filled in the rest of the look around it. This YSL clutch has been on my wish list for some time now, and one day it will be mine! To dress things up a little more, I really like these Nadri drop earrings – and they’re only $45! Hope you enjoy….
The husband and I are spending a night out on the town this Valentine’s Day starting with dinner at Jeffrey’s (one of my favorites). Not quite sure where the night will take us after that – maybe to a low-key bar – although if I’m being honest we’re a little boring, so we’ll probably just end up going home and watching a movie. I am not ashamed! 😉
With Austin being such a casual city, I try to take advantage of any opportunity to dress up, and Valentine’s Day is certainly one of those opportunities.
